After a fairly rainy few months this summer, the Netherlands will be doused with one final round of summer sun, expected to arrive this weekend. Between Saturday and Monday, temperatures in the Netherlands could get up to 25 degrees in the south of the country.

Sun to arrive in the Netherlands for September

The sunny weather will arrive on Saturday, 2 September and will continue until Tuesday 4. The country will see temperatures vary with highs of between 21 and 25 degrees celsius and lows of between 10 and 14. On the run-up to the weekend, there will however be rain across much of the country but temperatures will begin to climb.

Throughout this August, the Dutch summer weather has been disappointing at best. Much of the month has been filled with rain and even some of the nicest days to visit the beach have been disturbed by sharp summer showers, making this weekend a great time to get out and enjoy the last dose of summer sun.

Rain to return after sunny weekend

Unfortunately, the good weather is not set to last, though. After the warm, dry weekend, the rain is forecast to return on September 4. In the north of the country, temperatures could drop lower as the rain comes, while in Amsterdam, temperatures will stay around 21 degrees celsius, and even warmer in cities like Eindhoven in the south.

As September draws near, hopes that the Dutch summer could pick up are beginning to fade, but thankfully there are still a few days of sun left before the autumn rolls in. Still, we won’t complain if the sun wants to stick around just a little bit longer!
