It has taken a while, but the refurbishment of the Frederik Hendriklaan (de Fred) and Willem de Zwijgerlaan has finally reached its final phase. Time for a party! That party will take place on Saturday 9 September and there is a lot to experience that day.

From 13: hours to 13: 30 hours is the party at De Fred en Willem de Zwijgerlaan. From a parade to a party with Wipneus and Pim and lots of stalls.

Lovely shopping

The shopping area has undergone a major overhaul in recent months and it shows. From the tram tracks to the sidewalks; everything has been renewed. That should be celebrated, according to the shopkeepers of De Fred. That is why on Saturday 9 September everything will be pulled out of the closet.

You can stroll along the stalls of the ‘Shopping Treasure Market’ and ‘Le Marie Marché’, because the shopping streets are car-free that day. On a stage at the intersection with the Willem de Zwijgerlaan there are performances by Diana Meijer and various singing and dancing groups. There is also a bingo.

The Fred Parade and free shopping

At 13: The Fred Parade starts with music, dance and we have even heard that none other than Santa Claus will come to The Hague a few months earlier to be present.

The wish fairy is also walking around among the shoppers. If she taps her magic wand on your shoulder, she will pay the bill at the store where you shopped. The kids can have their faces painted and play games on the street and to top it off, DJs Wipneus and Pim will close the holiday.
