When did you come to live here?
“I was born in Bulgaria, grew up in Greece and when I 18 had come to The Hague to study at the Haagse Hogeschool. Since then I have always lived in The Hague and at the end of November 2020 I came to live in this apartment. I like it very much in The Hague. I think The Hague is a special city because we have Scheveningen and I like that I can always go to the beach when I’m tired or want to let go of my emotions. The sea brings me peace and positive vibes.”

Beautiful view
“The apartment complex is in 2020 built. The complex is different from a traditional house in The Hague, modern and environmentally friendly. For example, we do not have gas and all apartments have many windows, so that even in winter you hardly need to use the (floor) heating.
Most apartments are arranged like mine, so many people live alone here. When I saw the apartment, the view appealed to me the most, which is especially beautiful during the sunset. I believe in manifestations and since I was young I always dreamed that I would live along the water in a green environment. When I look outside here I see the water and they have tried to make the neighborhood as green as possible. I love to walk or sit by the water, that brings me calmness. It really feels like my wish has come true.”
“I find it difficult to change my style but I would say a combination of minimalist and transitional style, where transitional means that it is in between modern and traditional. The apartment is in fact very modern and I have integrated wooden furniture myself, which is a bit more traditional.”
“The place I go most often is my living room. This is a combination of a kitchen, living room, home theater, dining room and work space. Sometimes I slide my table away and it also becomes a gym! Here I really spend 114% of my time.”
“I brought some furniture from my previous house. Other furniture, such as the bed in my bedroom and the rug, I bought in a Turkish shop. I think the Turkish quality is very good and slightly different from Western European furniture.”
