Some residents have known it for a long time, but it is now official: The Hague is in the top ten of the most attractive places to live in the Netherlands. This is evident from the Atlas for municipalities.

In the Atlas for municipalities, the fifty largest municipalities in the Netherlands are listed in more than compared fifty factors. Think of employment, but also of universities, house prices and cultural facilities.

Living in The Hague

The Hague is in seventh place in the Atlas for municipalities. Compared to other cities in South Holland, The Hague is in third place. Leiden is on the ‘real’ three and Leidschendam-Voorburg on five.

Atlas researcher Marten Middeldorp tells NRC that people particularly appreciate the proximity of facilities. “They want to be able to walk in a park a short distance from their home and have a picnic with the kids,” he says.
