What is hiding behind the large church doors of the Shalomkerk or the Elandstraatkerk? You can find out during the Open Church Day. On this day you can peek inside and discover everything about a number of churches in and near The Hague.

You might go regularly to the Abdijkerk on Willem lllstraat, but maybe also not. Whatever your situation, you can enter the church on Whit Monday. You don’t have to be a member of the church or religious; every resident is welcome!
You can get a tour of the vegetable garden and the Shalom Church on the Vrederustlaan, but you can also visit the Grote Kerk in the city center and the H. Antonius Abtkerk on the Scheveningseweg for free.
Open Churches Day
The Open Churches Day is organized by the Open Churches Foundation. The organization says on its website that the theme day was created to “draw attention to the great cultural, historical and social importance of the church buildings.”
