The Arie Lemsfonds, a fund that supports social initiatives, will provide financial support to the Volunteer Transport Zaanstreek foundation next year. The charity fund announced this on Monday 1 May in Café Factory Zaandam, during the celebration of Labor Day.

“The Volunteer Transport Foundation Zaanstreek can count on a contribution in the coming year for the purchase of a new software package to make the schedules”, reports the Arie Lemsfonds.

The transport offered by the Volunteer Transport Zaanstreek Foundation is intended for people with an indication who cannot travel with regular public transport. The foundation has sixty volunteers. About three-quarters of these are drivers. Each year they carry out approximately 2700 trips with six vans.

Tradition The Arie Lemsfonds chooses a charity every year to which they make a financial contribution. “This year, however, this tradition was broken, because two organizations were made happy with donations,” says the fund. The Hee 6 Foundation and New Moon Orchestra both received a sum of money. Hee 6 was allowed to add two thousand euros to the bank account, while New Moon received six hundred donated.
