The Japanese Garden is open again to the public. During the opening weekend more people visited the garden than it can safely handle. The municipality has therefore changed the rules for visiting the Japanese Garden.
The Japanese Garden is quite fragile. The garden needs a great deal of care and maintenance to remain beautiful. The municipality is taking measures so that as many visitors as possible can enjoy the Japanese Garden. And so that the garden stays beautiful and intact.
Changes to the rulesDue to the large crowds a number of changes have been made to the admission policy and the route through Clingendael Park and the Japanese Garden. Be aware that you may have to wait in a queue to enter as a result of the new measures.
From Monday, 8 May to Sunday, 11 June 2023 the garden will be open daily from 9.00 to 17.00 hrs. If it gets too busy, visitors may have to leave after spending a certain amount of time in the garden. Staff will inform visitors about these measures, if they become necessary.
The municipality apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
