The tender of the regional taxi Utrecht (2024-2028) has ended prematurely. The municipality of Zeist announced this via TenderNed. Due to the temporary suspension of the tender, transport companies can no longer register for this contract for the time being.

According to a spokesperson for the municipality of Zeist, it became clear during the tendering process , that the current form of the tender offers too little guarantee for the recruitment of new operators for the regional taxi. This is due to the large number of questions from carriers. “For this reason, the tender has been temporarily halted”, the spokesperson explains.

Joint tender The province of Utrecht, where in total 22 municipalities covered, made early this year is known to market target group transport. In total 22 municipalities, including the municipality of Zeist, jointly outsource target group transport. Target group transport includes collective demand-dependent transport, route-related transport (such as student and youth aid transport) and transport contract management. The contract is divided into five lots.

According to the spokesman for the municipality of Zeist, it is still unclear when transport companies can register for this contract again. “In the short term, the starting date of a new tender for the regional taxi will be determined.”
