Rain or shine, Lisette de Jager (46) and Mack Dylan (24) from The Hague prefer to be found in the water. They both love surfing. But they still missed a place for queers in the surfing world. That’s why they founded The Queer Surf club.

“Although the focus is on queers , anyone who feels comfortable with it is welcome. We don’t want to exclude anyone.” says Lisette to our colleague from AD Den Haag.
Event
Last week the new surf club had its first meeting on the beach of Scheveningen. “It was super cool”, Mack recalls. “We expected about ten participants, but in the end forty showed up.”

The pair now want one every month organize an event where they not only go surfing, for example they also think of a movie night on the beach. They also provide lessons for beginners and advanced students.
The next meeting of the Queer Surf club is Saturday 20 May. Check out their Instagram page for more information.
