Summary

Medy van der Laan and Chris Figee join the Supervisory Board (RvC) of Royal Schiphol Group. The shareholders of Schiphol Group have agreed to this at the shareholders’ meeting of 10 April. Both Supervisory Board members have been appointed for a period of four years.

Medy van der Laan is chairman of the Dutch Banking Association. Before that, she was chairman of Energie-Nederland, the association of Dutch energy companies, and fulfilled various administrative and supervisory roles. She was also Secretary of State. Van der Laan is also currently chairman of the National Listening Research Foundation, chairman of the Berenschot Management Foundation and chairman of the Supervisory Board of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam. She is also a member of the Executive Board of VNO-NCW and a member of the SER.

With her broad experience within and outside the public sector and with issues related to sustainability and energy transition, Van der Laan is a valuable addition to the Supervisory Board of Royal Schiphol Group. She fills an open vacancy.

Chris Figee

Chris Figee is CFO and member of the Board of Directors at KPN. Before that, he was CFO and member of the Executive Board at asr insurance. Figee has extensive experience in the financial sector and has worked for various organizations. Figee is a member of the Economic Board South Holland and the Supervisory Board of Azerion and the Supervisory Board of UNICEF Netherlands.

Figee’s extensive experience in financial environments, strategy and operational processes are of added value to his role in the Supervisory Board of Royal Schiphol Group. He will succeed Robert Jan van de Kraats as chairman of the Audit Committee next year. To ensure a smooth transfer, Van de Kraats was reappointed for a period of one year after two terms of four years.

On 11 April is Mikael Olsson stepped down after two terms on the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board is looking for a successor.
