Have you always wanted to go to the Art Museum or the Mauritshuis for free? It’s possible in the coming week, because during Museum Week you can enter for free with someone else’s museum card.

From 1 to 7 April it is Museum Week throughout the Netherlands. During that period, residents who do not have a

annual museum card can still visit museums in The Hague free of charge via the annual museum card of a fellow townsman. It doesn’t matter who you borrow the pass from. Your mother, neighbor or friend: it’s all good.

Free to the museum

There are some rules attached to this promotion. You may only use someone else’s museum card from 1 to 7 April and you must have the pass with you. A photo of the card is therefore not sufficient.

In addition, you cannot enter together with the owner of the annual museum card, because it is valid for one person. The website states: “The whole idea is that museum card holders can already visit a museum every day. The point is that you lend it to someone who normally doesn’t do that often. You can of course come along, but then you just pay an entrance fee. Or you can borrow the card from your partner or someone you know.”

Other activities during Museum Week

Some museums are extra activities during Museum Week. All activities of museums throughout the Netherlands can be found here .
