It Persian Spring Festival Nowruz is celebrated in The Hague on Saturday, April 1. The New Year’s party, during which we reflect on nature coming out of hibernation, is held in the Amare cultural building and the Nieuwe Kerk with music and tasty snacks.

Nowruz means ‘new day’ in Persian and the New Year is also celebrated on this day. Nowruz is celebrated more quietly than usual this year because of the violent events in Iran and Afghanistan. The adapted program pays extra attention to women’s struggle for freedom.
Program
Nowruz’s program includes music performances and poetry. There is also a market with lots of food and books. The market is free to enter and a ticket for the festival costs 30 euro
