The world of Vermeer

On The exhibition Het Delft van Vermeer opened in museum Prinsenhof in February. You step into the world of this famous painter and his contemporaries, such as his mother-in-law Maria Thins, fellow painter Leonaert Bramer and master baker Hendrick van Buyten, who also collected art. In addition to masterpieces by Vermeer and his contemporaries, you can see Delft pottery, Delft tapestries, archives and ego documents.

In museum Prinsenhof you will also discover the other side of Johannes Vermeer. Did you know that he 12 had children and was also an innkeeper? With the audio tour you give your visit to the exhibition an extra dimension. It tells you about Vermeer’s youth, marriage and work, among other things.
