International Women’s Day, March 8, is a day to spoil women. Unfortunately, not every woman in The Hague can afford that luxury. The Kessler Foundation therefore puts women from social shelters for the homeless in the spotlight by giving them a nice pampering day .

One hundred women from the shelter in The Hague are pampered in March during a wonderful beauty day, but volunteers are still needed for that.

This is how you help

The Kessler foundation is still looking for hairdressers, manicures, pedicures, beauticians and make-up artists who want to volunteer (part of) that day and take care of the ladies. Do you want and can you help? Send an email to


During Women’s Day, the ladies are not only pampered by beauticians , they can also participate in dance and reiki workshops or enjoy a massage. They can also choose clothes from the vintage clothing store Pakkie Deftig and at the end of the day they will receive a bag full of care products.

You can also help in that area. The collection of used women’s clothing and unused personal care products starts on Monday 13 January 2023. You can purchase products up to 10 hand in February at Pakkie Deftig at the Zamenhofstraat 30 or at the Kessler Foundation at De la Reyweg 530.
