Joost van Doesburg will be 2023 Head of Cargo at Royal Schiphol Group. He succeeds Anne Marie van Hemert, who will continue her career outside Royal Schiphol Group as of February. His appointment is in line with the wish of Air Cargo Netherlands (ACN) to have a dedicated and organization firmly positioned Head of Cargo. Van Doesburg will focus entirely on freight, has extensive experience in the air freight sector and is very well informed about everything that is happening at and around Schiphol.

Van Doesburg will focus on cargo retaining an important position at Schiphol . He and the team will also focus on important long-term developments for the air cargo chain, such as the development of Schiphol South-East into Cargo City, the construction of a future-oriented Port Community System and the Smart Cargo Mainport Programme.

Freight is extremely important for Schiphol and the Netherlands. We are convinced that Joost will successfully represent the interests of the air freight sector. We have had the necessary discussions with each other in recent years, but the common denominator has always been that we want to make Schiphol a better place for employees and for the Netherlands.

Patricia Vitalis, Director Airport Operations and Aviation Partnerships at Royal Schiphol Group

I am enthusiastically returning after seven years to the fascinating air freight world and then also in a very nice position, namely that of Head of Cargo at Royal Schiphol Group. Together with the air freight community at Schiphol Airport, I want to work on accelerating innovation, sustainability and customer experience in order to strengthen Schiphol’s position as the preferred airport in Europe. Over the past four years, as a union foreman at the airport, I have critically followed the Schiphol Group on numerous dossiers. With the conclusion of the social agreement in June , a major step has been taken towards an airport with a greater focus on the well-being, terms and conditions of employment of the thousands of indispensable employees . This change made my switch possible.
