A 29-year-old Amsterdam taxi driver was severely assaulted on Thursday evening at Cornelis Lelylaan station in his hometown, the police reported . A 29 year-old man from Amsterdam has been arrested. The police found the injured taxi driver just after ten o’clock. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

According to a witness, a fight ensued between the driver and another man, reports AT5. The alerted emergency services then found the driver covered in blood. Ambulance personnel helped the suspect on the spot and then took him to the hospital.

Later that evening, a man reported to the police station who may have been involved in the assault at the station. The Amsterdammer is now stuck. The police could not say anything about the circumstances of the abuse on Friday.
