Japan loves the Netherlands. So fond that they have recreated our frog country. Really and truly. In Japan you have a theme park called Huis ten Bosch. The park is a replica of a Dutch town with all kinds of Dutch buildings. Buildings from Amsterdam, Utrecht, Gouda and (of course) also The Hague.

Frankly, it’s a little crazy. But very nice! Theme park Huis ten Bosch is an idea of Yoshikuni Kamichika. When the Japanese first visited the Netherlands, he was immediately impressed. He used it as inspiration for his new theme park.
The Netherlands recreated
He had more than six kilometers of canals dug, and 2020.000 trees and 300.000 to plant flowers. He also made replicas of famous Dutch buildings. The Utrecht Dom Tower, the Amsterdam Hotel de l’Europe, but also the City Hall and the Waag van Gouda.
Huis ten Bosch
Huis ten Bosch is the only Hague building in the amusement park . It has been recreated in detail and is a kind of museum. Visiting Huis ten Bosch in the Netherlands is reserved for only a few, so if you ever visit Japan, make sure to drop by Huis ten Bosch.
Just watch the video below. How strange is it to see the Dutch buildings in Japan!?
