The municipality is looking for smart solutions for transportation in and to The Hague’s Binckhorst-Central Innovation District (CID). This area will play host to 25,000 new homes and 30,000 new jobs. Start-up companies can win a maximum of € 25,000 with an idea for making transportation here sustainable.
The winner will use this sum of money to further elaborate on the plan with help from the municipality.
ChallengeVisitors, residents and businesses should be able to decide in favour of sustainable transportation in this area to the greatest extent possible. This includes public transportation, cycling and car sharing. There are 4 train stations located at cycling distance. But the area is also located next to the A12. And it will still take some time before the public transport system with light rail transit is completed. This means there are quite a few challenges for which the municipality is seeking a solution.
