The municipality is repairing the intersection between the Calandstraat and 1e van der Kunstraat. Work will be carried out only on the traffic lane in the direction of the Neherkade. The project starts on Monday, 7 November 2022 and will last 4 days.

Intersection of the Calandstraat and 1e van der Kunstraat What is going to happenThe Calandstraat will get new asphalt in the direction of the Neherkade, by the intersection with the 1e van der Kunstraat. This is required because the asphalt here is in extremely poor condition.

ScheduleThe contractor will start working on Monday, 7 November 2022. The work will last until Thursday, 10 November 2022. The work will take place from 7.00 to 16.00 hrs.

Diversions Diversion from 7 November to 10 November 2022 Part of the intersection will be closed during the project. You will then not be able to drive from the Vaillantlaan or Waldorpstraat to the Neherkade. It will be possible to drive the other way around. Follow the diversions indicated by the yellow traffic signs.

Diversion 1 (red)

From the Vaillantlaan or Waldorpstraat drive via the Waldorpstraat. And turn left on the Neherkade at the Hildebrandplein.Diversion 2 (blue)

From the Calandstraat drive via the Waldorpstraat and Verisstraat to the 1e van der Kunstraat.Diversions for public transportHTM and EBS buses will operate a different route this week. You can find the diversions on the website of HTM and the website of EBS.

Nuisance during the projectThe contractor will do everything it can to limit any nuisance the project may cause. Unfortunately it is not possible to prevent nuisance altogether. The municipality asks you to be patient and to show understanding.   

Safety and emergency servicesThe municipality will do everything it can to keep the area safe during the project. Nonetheless work sites remain dangerous spots. You are advised to warn your children and to keep them away from the work site.

Emergency service vehicles (ambulance, fire department and police) will always be able to drive through the intersection in the event of an emergency.
