You may know Lucien as a teacher and vinologist at the Wine Academy, but he also provides wine courses in The Hague with ‘Wijnklas’. Now he opens his own wine shop for the first time. We were allowed to visit the store while enjoying a delicious wine tasting.

Concept
You will find the store in the Regentessekwartier, on the corner of Weimarstraat, in a beautiful building. The interior is sleek and spacious and at the same time radiates warmth. The central part of the new location consists of a tasting room/course room and a wine shop. The large wooden racks full of wines are the real eye-catchers of the business.

The Wine
The wines have been selected by country or region. The range includes wines from the old world, for example from Italy and France, as well as from the new wine world. With a wide selection of wines from the entry-level to the Grand Crus, the cheapest of which is available from 6 euros and you pay for the most expensive around 81 euros.

Tasting
During our visit, Lucien let us taste four wines, one of which was blind in a black glass. Was it white or red? It turned out to be a rosé from Provence. Meanwhile Lucien tells about the origin of the wines, the different wineries and how the wine is made. The wines we taste are from different price ranges and there was even a natural wine.

The Wine Shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11.11 hours to 18. hours. Lucien organizes wine tastings and provides wine courses for both beginners and advanced. You can also follow the official SDEN courses from level 1 to 3.
