This extra council meeting on the reception and housing of asylum seekers in The Hague has been scheduled at the request of the Hart voor Den Haag faction. This party has indicated that they want to question the mayor about his role in the reception and housing of asylum seekers in The Hague, as he was unable to attend previous debates on this subject.
To request an extra council meeting, the support of at least one fifth of the council members is required. Because the city council of The Hague consists of 28 councilors, at least 9 seats are needed for a request for an additional council meeting.
