The bridge at the Hart Nibbrigkade will be replaced soon, so the Benoordenhoutseweg is partially closed. From 21 October the contractor will start with preparatory work. During the period from 21 October to the end of February, 1 carriageway will remain into the city and 1 lane out of town available. A bacteria has damaged the wooden posts of the bridge, which is why replacement is necessary. The work is expected to take 4 months.

Alderman Anne Mulder: ”We want to prevent unsafe situations. That is why it is important that the bridge at the Hart Nibbrigkade is replaced. This entails the necessary nuisance, which is why the municipality has taken several actions to inform people. For example, letters were sent to local residents and an information evening was organised. During the execution of the work, we will also erect information boards to inform motorists at an early stage.”

Major road
The Benoordenhoutseweg is an important road between Wassenaar and The Hague. That is why the road will remain open in both directions during the work. The municipality expects traffic jams and nuisance. The advice is therefore to choose a different route or to use public transport or bicycle. For more information see: denhaag.nl/accessibility.
