While the weather recently may not have been anything to write home about, this week sees the Netherlands enjoy another couple of days of sunny skies and warm temperatures, as temperatures soar to around 30 degrees on Wednesday.

Temperatures to reach 33 degrees in the Netherlands

The temperature will rise quickly throughout the course of Wednesday morning, and by Wednesday afternoon parts of the country will be enjoying temperatures in the low 30s. Those in Amsterdam and The Hague can expect highs of 27 degrees, but the weather in other cities will be hotter, with temperatures set to reach 29 degrees in Groningen, 30 degrees in Utrecht, and 33 degrees in Eindhoven

The nice weather will continue into the evening, providing perfect conditions for sitting outside – perhaps on a terrace or on a boat on the canals – and enjoying drinks and food with friends or family. Thursday is set to be a lovely summer day too, but be sure to make the most of it while it lasts, as things will cool off considerably from Thursday evening as the chance of thunderstorms increases.

Heading into the weekend, Friday will bring plenty of showers and temperatures in the low 20s, but don’t worry, this weekend is set to be sunny and dry – perfect conditions for the Pride parade in Amsterdam on Saturday!

August expected to be a warm and sunny month

The Dutch weather is notoriously unpredictable, and while Wednesday’s mini heatwave isn’t set to last very long, the good news is that forecasts show August will be a largely warm and sunny month. Temperatures will rise again throughout the course of next week, reaching as high as 30 degrees in some towns and cities

The experts over at Weerplaza predict that the first 10 days of August will bring temperatures that are between one and three degrees higher than the average for this time of year. Similar weather is expected between August 10 and August 20, after which temperatures will drop slightly to averages of around 18 degrees before rising again at the start of September.
