It looked so beautiful, three immense high residential towers around culture palace Amare in the Spuikwartier . After tower Adagio and Bolero, Tower C should have become the third high tower, but this is not happening.
AD: Its arrival had been delayed for years, but now there is a definitive line door Toren C. After the summer, the city council will come up with alternative plans for the construction site next to Amare.
Tower C was to become the third tower at the Amare cultural palace alongside Adagio and Bolero and would eventually be called Cantate. It was to be built on the site of the former Nederlands Dans Theater. Last autumn it turned out that there was a major disagreement between the municipality and the builder about what should be in the building. Alderman Anne Mulder wrote in October that she intended to have the agreement dissolved.
Disbanded
Now that’s what happened. The developer had to come up with a proposal before a fixed date about what would be realized in the tower. Because that proposal did not come, the contract is now terminated. As a result, the city balcony (an elevated walking route, next to the theater) cannot be constructed either.
The city council has previously had it recorded that it can participate in discussions about what will happen at this location. The options for building a tower with social housing are also being considered.
