‘What you get from afar is tasty,’ goes the saying. But is that really so? Did you know that you can get a lot of food and drink from our own soil in The Hague and the sea? Sunday 28 June there are four free bike tours through The Hague where you discover everything about local food along the way. Het Haagse Groen tells more about it:

During the bike ride you will pass places in and around the city where food is grown, traded or processed. And also along consciously enterprising The Hague’s catering industry, producers in and around the city, neighborhood gardens and locations with an interesting history. And of course there are also a few things to taste during the tour.
The routes:
Route 1: Vegetable in and around the city ( km)
In this This route takes you from the Grote Markt, past the Daily Green Market, a worm hotel, the Food Room of Lekkernassûh, the shop Rechtstreex, CSA van Pluk, ABC distribution center Westland, Westlanddruif and the Groene Matties where people grow vegetables together next to their flat.
Route 2: Sea, fish & seaweed: Scheveningen and coastal route (8 km)
In this route you drive from the Grote Markt, the Riviervismarkt, the Zeeheldenbuurt , via Muzee to the Scheveningen harbor. Along the way you will explore what you can eat out of the water and hear about the North Sea farm that grows seaweed.
