The city council of Arnhem wants the cabinet to end the free transport of children who go to a school further away for religious reasons. According to the board, the compensation would be at the expense of the children who really need the money.

Parents who send their children to a remote school because of their religion, would have to pay for this themselves. The city council asks the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) whether they want to press the cabinet on this, reports De Gelderlander . Earlier, the Arnhem city council adopted a proposal from various parties to argue at a national level for the cancellation of funding for student transport on religious or ideological grounds.
