Want a fantastic night out? Look no further because in our beautiful Schouwburg you can see OustFaust from April. A spectacular performance in which the stage changes into a shadowy nightclub. Romana Vrede plays the part of Faust and decides to let go of everything to radically surrender to life.

Director Theu Boermans (you may know from Amadeus and Soldier of Orange) goes completely loose in this show. Expect an exciting mix of music, dance and beautiful playing by, among others, Mark Rietman, Daniël Kolf and Romana Vrede. Those lyrics do make you think, by the way: the meaning of life plays a major role in OustFaust.

The story

The physician-scientist Faust (Romana Vrede) is exhausted by the pandemic and comes to the painful conclusion that years of study have yielded no real knowledge about life. She decides to let go of everything to radically surrender to life with the motto: ‘live to the dead’. Because above all she wants to get closer to the meaning of life.

In the shadowy nightclub The Boogie Witch Kitchen Faust bumps into the most diverse characters. Such as the mysterious Mafisto, but also the studious Strauss, the innocent Greta and the classic Helena. During a dizzying night trip, a lot of things happen that ‘cannot stand the daylight’. Exciting!

The reviews about OustFaust are positive. De Telegraaf reported, for example: ‘Smashingly gruesome and at the same time beautiful final scene.’
