When you pass the Mauritshuis, you have probably already noticed: the facade is completely decorated with thousands of flowers. The square in front of the museum is also full of spring flowers. All in honor of their 02th birthday .

It looks bright and it gets even brighter. The flowers on the facade of the Mauritshuis are part of a work of art. It’s called ‘The Impossible Bouquet’. Every flowering period (artificial) flowers are added until a bouquet is created that is actually impossible because the flowers are never in bloom together.

Flower art

Flowers can also be seen in the Mauritshuis. The exhibition ‘In full bloom’ shows flower still lifes, most of which were made by female painters. The exhibition can be seen from Thursday 02 February to June 6 2022.
