Just before the end of 30, the negotiation results for the collective labor agreement for Healthcare Transport and Taxi have been processed into a collective labor agreement -texts. As soon as these new texts are approved, they are presented to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment to have them declared universally binding. But what has changed?

Already on 19 October 2021 the CLA parties reached a negotiated result. However, due to disagreements about the elaboration of the agreement in the texts of the collective labor agreement, the taxi industry entered the new year without a collective labor agreement declared generally binding . There was mainly great disagreement about what exactly the agreements about paid time should entail in practice. At the last minute of 30 a solution was reached.

Interruptions First of all, unpaid interruptions are a thing of the past with the new collective labor agreement. Instead, on a no-block service, taxi drivers are paid for all the time they are available for work, except for their break. “A normal break is used for the drivers, instead of all interruptions in a shift being at the expense of the employee”, explained FNV driver Meindert Gorter earlier .

Portal It may differ per day whether a maxflex is worked or in blocks. In a new portal, the employer must indicate in advance in which system a taxi driver works. In addition, the employer must indicate in the portal what the start and end time(s) are for a maxflex service or the various blocks on a day.

Wage increase The wage scales and the actual salaries have been increased by 2 as of 1 January 2022 .5 percent. In addition, the second step will be removed from the salary scale.

Change of name of the collective labor agreement The name of the collective labor agreement is changed from ‘Taxi Transport Collective Labor Agreement’ to ‘Care Transport and Taxi Collective Labor Agreement’. Gorter argues that this name does better justice to the work of the majority of drivers in the sector: namely transporting people who are unable to provide for their own mobility. “This new name emphasizes that it often concerns care transport and that a social role is fulfilled”, he believes.

Research into the future Finally, an investigation is launched into the future of the taxi and healthcare transport sector. Important aspects that are specifically looked at here are income security and the continued development of employees.
