Higher education will remain closed until Friday 10 January, said outgoing minister Arie Slob. “It is a huge relief, but we must remain vigilant about the development of the virus.” Also, outdoor sports for young people to 14 year again possible until 20.10 hours.

The outgoing cabinet has made the decision following advice from the Outbreak Management Team (OMT), which met earlier today. On Instagram we asked our readers what they think of the reopening of schools. The reactions are diverse. For example, Yvette says: “Nothing better than having my students live in front of me”. But skeptical reactions also pass by: “Nah… After 3 infections at the emergency shelter of the out-of-school care (where I work) a really good idea”, someone writes. Ryanne thinks it sucks, because she just has a holiday herself.
On Friday 14 January 458 another press conference is planned. For more details, check the website of the Central Government.
