Something special is happening in The Hague’s shopping streets. You may have noticed that many stores are packed. It looks very cozy and it makes shopping even more fun, but there is a message behind it. In other words, buy locally. Because that way you score the best gifts, you never have to go far (there are also nice shops around the corner) and you ensure that those nice, unique shops continue to exist.
Are you going out? Then stick to the current rules and advice from the central government.
If you shop locally , you get that little bit extra: that nice smile for example or extensive explanation. On the following pages we mention a number of neighborhoods whose festive shop windows are already ‘packed’ and where you can shop to your heart’s content. Do you want to see them all right away? Check the website of The Hague will pack you in: all neighborhoods where you can shop wonderfully locally are listed there.
We are kicking off with the Hofkwartier. Right in the center of The Hague you will find this royal shopping area of international allure. Pick up a fork, visit a cozy boutique or check out one of the art galleries.
If you want to enjoy a beautiful part of The Hague and succeed in your (Christmas) shopping, then the Hofkwartier is the perfect place to spend your day. With the Palace Garden around the corner, you also have a lovely piece of greenery within walking distance.
