As a result of the new corona measures, KNV Healthcare Transport and Taxi have examined the healthcare transport protocols together with the trade unions. This has led to some adjustments, in particular in the sector protocol for care transport for children and young people up to and including 17 years.

The branch organization has also contacted the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and several chain partners. The biggest change that has resulted from this is in the protocol for student transport up to and including 17 year. All students of special (primary) education are requested to wear a non-medical mouth cap in transport. Previously this request did not apply to students under the age of thirteen.

A different advice This is slightly different from the advice regarding wearing face masks at school. There, only students from group six are required to wear a mouth cap. Nevertheless, the partners have chosen to make the rules the same for all students, because this is best for the safety of the students and the drivers. In addition, it is often practically impossible for carriers and drivers to determine exactly in which group a particular student is.

The usual exceptions apply to students who are unable to wear a face mask for medical reasons. Since this measure may require some preparation time from carriers, clients and parents of children, it has been decided to allow the adjustment to take effect on Monday 6 December.

One and a half meters and stricter snotbell policy Furthermore, the protocols have changed in the field of the one and a half meter measure. This measure was formulated as urgent advice, but has now become the rule again. This is particularly important for carriers at business locations. This distance obligation does not exist in the vehicles themselves. Furthermore, the ‘snotte bubble policy’ has been adjusted in accordance with the guidelines of the RIVM. This means that four to twelve year olds may no longer be transported, even if they have mild cold symptoms.

The amended protocols are here.
