At Schiphol we do everything we can to offer passengers a good service. That also means having an excellent catering offer with options for everyone, including passengers who wish to eat vegan. And, of course, there’s no better time to blog about meat-free snacks at our airport than World Vegan Day. We tell you where you can find the tastiest plant-based snacks and meals – both before and after security.

Health Food Wall

If you enter Schiphol Plaza from outside, the Health Food Wall is not to be missed. Rest assured that everything in this wall is super healthy – the meals are prepared by a dietitian and contain no unnecessary additives. Furthermore, one of the six options is always meat-free. At the time this blog came online, this was a dish with roasted vegetables, chickpeas and a harissa dressing. Doesn’t that sound delicious?

Pizza Per Tutti!

A restaurant which is very popular at Schiphol is Pizza Per Tutti!, where passengers feel as if they are in Italy. And now our vegan passengers can also enjoy these authentic pizzas with fresh ingredients. Although there is no vegan pizza on the menu, feel free to ask and the employees will prepare a vegetable pizza for you. You even have the choice between a standard base or one based on cauliflower. Pizza Per Tutti! is located in Schiphol Plaza, next to Starbucks and opposite Albert Heijn.

Burger King

Burger King probably comes to mind beef burgers and chicken nuggets. Vegans certainly have nothing to do there, right? Yes it is! The well-known fast food restaurant now also has meat-free Whoppers and nuggets without chicken on its menu, all served with vegetable mayo (or ketchup, if that’s more your thing). Burger King can be found in Schiphol Plaza. You can’t miss it!

Up To Do Good

Up To Do Good is a concept store and café where sustainability is the order of the day. So it’s no surprise that they also offer various vegan options. How about a Brazilian-style açaí bowl with fresh fruit? Açaí is a berry that grows on palm trees in the rainforests of South America and is packed with antioxidants. A kind of smoothie is made from this berry, which is served in a bowl with various toppings, such as fruit. Delicious for breakfast or as a filling snack. Just a little more hungry, or in the mood for something hearty? Then try the toasted sandwich with avocado and vegan cheese!

La Place

At La Place in Lounge 1 you will be welcomed in a setting that is somewhere between a restaurant and a market. All kinds of freshly prepared meals and snacks are displayed on the long buffet, where vegans will certainly find something to their liking. For example, the sweet potato soup is completely plant-based and the salad bar offers a choice of various types of lettuce, grilled vegetables, legumes and other goodies. They also have a great selection of fresh juices and smoothies.

Kebaya

Fresh sushi, prepared to order with local ingredients. Sounds good right? At the East Asian brasserie Kebaya, the chefs are happy to make vegan sushi if you ask. And through the glass walls you can see for yourself how they prepare it for you. Enjoying Japanese cuisine while waiting for your flight? Off to Holland Boulevard!

Amsterdam Bread Co.

The Dutch love bread. Many of us eat it at least twice a day. It is therefore only logical that Schiphol has a top spot where passengers can enjoy this local favourite. Amsterdam Bread Co. offers a varied selection of sandwiches and other baked goods in Lounge 2, prepared as much as possible with local seasonal products. At the time of writing, there is a vegan sandwich with hummus and avocado on the menu, but don’t hesitate to ask the employees about other plant-based options.

These are just a few of all the options we have to offer our vegan passengers, and the range of meals and snacks is constantly changing. More information about eating and drinking at Schiphol can be found on our website.
