It sounds like a fun adventure: during a warm, sweltering night into the dunes with your sleeping bag and spend the night here. But is it also allowed?

It is perhaps impossible to imagine with this weather, but who knows (we hope for that) the summer will have a tail this month and you want to be in the dunes sleep.

Is that allowed?

To be short and sweet: no. Sleeping in nature falls under wild camping and that is not allowed in the Netherlands. Not even if you pitch a tent. In the General Local Ordinance (APV) of The Hague states that it is prohibited to camp outside designated areas. Are you going to camp illegally? Then you risk a fine of €09,-.
